TEACHING METHODS
Textbooks are selected depending on each student’s level and the desired goals. Also, I offer/require the theory time separately (like 20-30 mins) in the lesson time since the theory is fundamental to understand any kind of music/instrumental along with the help of better performance. I might need to use a theory book if the student is a beginner. If not, I will explain the theories that were used in the piece.
ATTITUDE/PARTICIPATE
Attitude and participation are crucial components for success in piano lessons. It is essential for students to cultivate a positive attitude and actively engage in class activities to maximize their learning experience. Here are some key points to keep in mind regarding attitude and participation in piano class: Positive attitude/Practice/Respect for others/Willingness to learn.

* Note that If I recognize that the class can not be continued due to the loss of attention/interest in the learning piano, I will notify parents for discussion to resolve the problem. Generally, the solutions for such problems are varied depending on the ages/levels. Therefore, this will be carefully/enoughly discussed with parents for the best results. For example, for little kids, more fun pieces rather than the textbook will be temporarily used until the kids get enough attention/interest to continue the piano.
HOMEWORK/MATERIAL
Students need to prepare one pencil and one notebook (iPad is acceptable as well). I will write what we have covered in the lesson time and the corresponding assignments/homeworks. I strongly encourage parents to check and help for the completion of assignments/homeworks before the following lesson.
STUDENT RECITAL
I offer the Student Recital at the end of every semester (about May/December). Students might perform by memory, but they might use the score if it is needed. (It may need to request the rental fee for the recital hall)
COMPETITION
I encourage all students to participate in any competitions not only in this nearby area, but also other cities. Winners of the certain competitions get recital opportunities in famous halls such as Carnegie Hall (NYC) and Kaufman Music Hall (NYC).
SCHEDULE
I would prefer to schedule a regular lesson time since this helps to organize whole lesson/player schedules for both me and students. However, rescheduling and cancellation are acceptable but it should be notified at least 24 hrs in advance. If not, you have to pay as planned.

SCORE
You have to send me the pdf score at least 15 days before your first rehearsal. If you could scan it by yourself, it should be ‘black and white’ mode that is readable.
SCHEDULE
It is always better if you could schedule with me as soon as possible since my schedule is updating everyday. Rescheduling and cancellation are acceptable but it should be notified at least 24 hrs in advance. If not, you have to pay as planned.
